September 3, 2011 Taste of the Mountains Street Festival

The 19th annual “TASTE OF THE MOUNTAINS” Street Festival was held on September 3, 2011 in "downtown Madison".  Once again the Madison County Rescue Squad (MCRS) provided standby support at this annual event.  Taste of the Mountains started in 1992 as a heritage festival that celebrates the Mountain and Traditional cultures of the 18th & 19th century America as reflected in the customs and history of the Blue Ridge Mountains region.  Each year MCRS has provided standby Emergency Medical Support.  This event brings several thousand people to the town of Madison and fortunately through those years we have had no serious injuries.
