Our Fleet...
The Madison County Rescue Squad Squad operates four types of rescue vehicles. The Squads fleet consists of four ambulances, a first response unit/utility vehicle and a crash truck. A Prowler 4x4 vehicle was purchased in 2007 for special events and emergency situations involving very rough terrain.
Our ambulances or units are designated: Rescue/Trauma/Medic 384; 385; 387; 389.
Our first response vehicle is designated Response 383.
Our crash truck is designated Squad 388
Our Prowler is designated Prowler 1
What makes the difference between Rescue/Trauma/Medic designations of our ambulances is the Virginia Emergency Medical Services licensure level of the Squads Emergency Medical Technicians aboard each ambulance responding to your call is the simple answer. All of Madison County Rescue Squads EMTS are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Rest assured that when you call for an emergency situation, the very best trained EMTs will be coming to your location.
All four of our ambulances carry similar supplies and equipment. All of our ambulances carry a full complement of basic life support equipment and advanced life support equipment.
