Interested in volunteering your time and making a difference? The Madison County Rescue Squad (MCRS) is a good way to get free training, build teamwork skills, and have fun all while helping the community.
MCRS was formed in 1963 and has served Madison County and provided mutual aid to surrounding areas of Madison County for over 48 years.
All of the members of the Squad are volunteers, and all services are provided without charge to our patients. We are a non-profit organization that is fully staffed by volunteers every evening. We are in constant need of new members to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs-Basic/Enhanced/Intermediate/ Paramedics) and drivers. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16. All equipment and training is provided by MCRS. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Madison County Rescue Squad, please fill out our on-line membership application (link below) and complete the web form on this site.
All it takes is a few hours per week.
Monthly business meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. with a meal provided before the business meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Meetings are held at the MCRS building at 1473 North Main Street, Madison. For more information, please feel free to stop by, check the calendar or contact us.
Benefits -Training Process
All training is provided free of charge. No prior experience is required. Members will begin regular duty as probationary members.
No interest in riding in a ambulance...No Problem!
We are also in need of people who are interested in joining our Squad Auxiliary. This fine group of individuals helps support MCRS and its members in a variety of public relations activities and squad events and are considered a vital part of MCRS and are able to participate in all squad events. Membership in the auxiliary requires no EMT or driver certification.
